Ahh thanks got them to work... It was my laptops wireless, works great from the kitchen table, but no so much from the couch....

I do drills similar to that alot, except that I am firing Semi- not full auto...

I can tell I am getting better, for someone with no official training I guess...

Was it just me or on that very last segment, he 'missed' that last target #3 ?

Guess I need to watch again......at least the concept seems good for practice but if I have to shoot that close, I'd rather go Full Auto or at least RAPID FIRE !

Re: Rifle Drills

Something else to practice on is reloads, clearing jams and double feeds...

I have some of those inert rounds made for dryfiring and I'll have my ""Range Buddy" load like 6 or 8 20-30 rnd mags for me and pop in 2-3 random inert rounds, so I never know where they will strike... Then I need to clear them ASAP and bring the weapon back to ready and firing on targets again... We do that will our sidearms as well...

Sometime, I'll just let the rifle go to my side and transition to the sidearm to keep the flow...

Any of you ever work on these type of drills?

Anyone have, or seen, Clint Smith's defensive videos out? He has one called 'Urban Rifle' and I'd like to hear a review of it.

Not exactly but I do work on the transition from rifle to sidearm back to rifle using a tactical sling. I will stagger targets from 50 yards out to within 20 feet. I will 3-4 round a longer range man size target with the rifle, transition to pistol (using a tac sling on the rifle) for in close man size 3-4 round work then transition back to the rifle for longer range again.

Just trying to get comfortable going from rifle to pistol and like you said keep the flow going.

I think they are firing semi-auto's, at least the first guy is.

Personally I don't see much use for this drill, unless you we're further away from the targets(or if you started close and progressively moved further away).

Go to their website, buy the Green Eyes, Black Rifles book.

Or buy it from Amazon.

Spent the early part of the week doing this at a range used by the delta boyz.
